I’m not usually big on New Year’s resolutions, but I’m happy to say that eight days into 2012, I’m still in compliance.
I’ve read that most people fail to keep their resolutions because they don’t begin with clearly defined goals and they lack accountability. This year, I don’t have to worry about either of those things. That’s because instead of simply making resolutions, I had our lawyer draw up a contract.
Truthfully, our “lawyer” has never been to law school, or even to high school for that matter. It’s our 12-year-old son. While there are no lawyers in our family, we’ve always teased our youngest about his attorney potential. The boy loves to argue, and he says everything with authority, even if he has no idea what he’s talking about.
