My nieces Sloane and Reese, while siblings, are quite different from each other.

Sloane, being the first born and 2½, is cautious about new things and approaches new situations with some hesitation. Reese, who will turn 1 on Saturday, is gung-ho about new things and takes new challenges head on.

As my mom described it, Reese is a plunger.
