Earlier this week, University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina officially became Vidant Health.
For years, people in eastern North Carolina have trusted University Health Systems to provide high-quality health care through its system of community hospitals and an academic medical center, serving 1.4 million people in this region.
So why did we change our name? We have many different services and facilities, and we had different names for each. We acquired several hospitals around the region, but many people didn’t realize they are part of a system. Through our name we took steps to unify all these pieces under a unique identity that reflects who we are.
