The 2012 Service League of Greenville’s annual Charity Ball will be held on Feb. 18 at Rock Springs Center with the theme “Music of the Night: An Evening with Phantom of the Opera,” event chairwomen Maureen Bryant and Cindy Collie announced.
The Charity Ball raises funds for the league’s Laughinghouse Hospital Fund that provides financial support for prescription medicines to Pitt County residents who do not have insurance and are not receiving public medical assistance.
“We are having more requests than ever for assistance,” Laughinghouse chairman Jeri Jackson said. “Many residents have lost jobs, therefore losing their health insurance. Some of the medications are very expensive and our patients, many being children, would have to do without if it were not for the assistance of the Laughinghouse Hospital Fund.
