FOUNTAIN — The town of Fountain is a step closer to buying a new fire truck after a May 14 decision to proceed with a FEMA grant application.
The Board of Commissioners voted unanimously hire Texas-based Vickers Consultant Services to help with the process on the recommendation of Mike Dickens of the Fountain Fire Department.
“I talked to a grant writer today that is highly recommended,” Dickens told commissioners at the meeting. “They’ve gotten over $400,000,000 worth of grants for fire and rescue. So these are the people to use.”
