A man charged in a Wednesday murder said in court the victim was his best friend and he was not responsible for his death.
Moses Pittman, 34, of 200 Lincoln Street, Bethel, had his first appearance on Friday morning at the Pitt County Detention Center courtroom for an open count of murder and one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon.
