A Greenville police officer was named “Woman of the Year” by the N.C. Law Enforcement Women’s Association, the department reported.
Officer Kolenya Edwards received the recognition during the association’s three-day annual conference at the N.C. Justice Academy Training Center in Edneyville.
Edwards, a nine-year veteran with the department and a Roanoke Rapids native, graduated from East Carolina University and holds a master’s degree in criminal justice. She is a personnel and recruiting officer assigned to the Administrative Services Bureau. She previously served in the Field Operations Bureau as a patrol officer and in the Criminal Investigations Bureau’s Special Victims Unit as a detective.
