A pit bull that bit two women on Farmville Boulevard June 12 was put to sleep on Monday.

Shocker

Something doesn't add up here. It was reported elsewhere that "Havelock city commissioner Will Lewis said it's because it wasn't clear whether those kids were bitten or scratched." in regard to removing this dog from Havelock....Doesn't really add up to what reported here..."The dog had been removed from Havelock because of an attack there in February, when it bit two children on the face, arms and hands, police said.".... So, who's lying? The Police? County Officials? Journalists? All of the aforementioned? I wish we could take dumb police officers, politicians, journalists, 'officials' and violent offenders that are allowed to live in our community, and put them to sleep when they screw up. Lousy journalism perpetuates the negativity towards the pit bull breed. Lousy owner (Moore) + lousy caretaker (Columbus) = dead dog. No matter how you spin it, it's a human screw up that cost this dog his life. The only good thing to come out of this is that the dog will never suffer at the hands of humans again.
