Greenville police on Wednesday announced the arrest of two confirmed Crips members wanted as persons of interest in recent violent gang activity. They also are seeking a third man identified as a Crip.

Antione Jermome Ricks, 23, and Artkes Bennett, 31, both of Greenville, were arrested Tuesday in a gang suppression effort initiated July 13 in response to a string of eight shootings and other crimes since June 18, police department spokesman Lt. Ken Laws said.

Each was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, sale and delivery of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were placed with Pitt County Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 bonds.
