An Ayden man airlifted to Vidant Medical Center by EastCare on Saturday after overturning his vehicle in a ditch near Ayden is facing charges, a trooper with the State Highway Patrol said Sunday.

Antonio Aguilar of Ayden, no age available, was driving on Cannon Price Road east of Grifton when he overcorrected, driving his vehicle off the road to the right. He then drove his vehicle off the road left of center.

“He hit a ditch and then overturned several times,” Trooper A.D. Smith said.
