Two Pitt County employees have been arrested on charges they used a county gas card to make personal purchases, the sheriff’s office reported.
Deputies arrested James S. Carter, 52, 597 Westhaven Road, and Garrett Taylor, 34, 1000 Westover Drive, on Thursday. Both were employees at the Pitt County Transfer Station, 3025 Landfill Road.
Deputies began their investigation after questionable charges appeared on gas card receipts for the Pitt County Solid Waste Department from Sept. 29.
