Greenville police are working to identify suspects in a recent copper theft from a construction site.

About 8,500 feet of copper wire was stolen Saturday or Sunday from four units under construction at Meridian Park Apartments, 2707 Meridian Drive, according to the Greenville Police Department.

Detectives are working with local scrap metal dealers and with other law enforcement agencies to locate known scrap metal thieves and develop other leads in the case, a news release issued Tuesday said.
