Pitt County deputies charged a break-in suspect after identifying an eyeglass lens at the crime scene, a news release said.

Edward Donnell Barrett, 20, of 1723 O'Farrell Ave., Greenville was arrested Dec. 13 after detectives were called to the 300 block of Lombard Avenue in response to a breaking and entering, the release said.

The victim told officers that someone broke her bedroom window while she was away and stole $500.
