WILLIAMSTON — Martin County Schools received the resignation on Saturday from South Creek High School principal Charles “Chuck” Rundell, Superintendent Ron Melchiorre said.
The resignation followed a DWI arrest in Washington County on April 8.
According to N.C. Highway Patrol, Charles Anthony Rundell was arrested at 6:24 p.m. April 8 in Washington County and charged with DWI after being administered a Breathalyzer test, which registered above the legal .08 blood alcohol level. Troopers charged Rundell with possession of an open container of an alcoholic beverage and driving without a driver's license. His driver's license was automatically revoked for 30 days.
