An East Carolina University student was arrested on Wednesday after officers learned about a federal arrest warrant charging him with military desertion.
Two ECU officers were on foot patrol about 10:30 p.m. on Greenville’s greenway trail, an area known for marijuana use, officials said. They came upon a man and woman who were in “complete darkness” and off the paved path, according to an arrest report.
Officers asked the two for identification and determined them to be ECU students. The man, Adam Patrick Johnson, 27, was found to have an order for arrest, according to ECU police Lt. Chris Sutton.
