The following cases were disposed of in Pitt County superior court the week beginning Nov. 13.

  • Vanisha Lashawna Harper, 27, 3036 U.S. 264 Alt., Walstonburg, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, pleaded no contest, verdict guilty, 24-38 months Department of Correction suspended, 60 months probation, one day jail credit, obtain/maintain employment, pay restitution.
  • Mark May, 44, 5986 Lane St., Fountain, breaking and entering, pleaded guilty, 11-14 months Department of Correction, suspended, 18 months probation, 120 day jail-split credit, pay cost and lawyer.
  • Amanda Ashby Logan, 31, 2474 Grover Hardee Road, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance, pleaded guilty, six-eight months Department of Correction, suspended, 18 months probation, drug test every 30 days, pay cost, lab fee and restitution.
  • Jason Glen Walters, 28, 3 Chevy Lane, New Bern, second-degree murder, pleaded guilty, Alford plea, 207-258 months Department of Correction, pay cost and restitution; robbery with dangerous weapon, pleaded guilty, 51-71 months DOC at expiration.
  • Michael Bray, 23, 1306 Stallings Parkway, second-degree murder, pleaded guilty, Alford plea, 180-222 months Department of Correction, pay cost and restitution; robbery with dangerous weapon, pleaded guilty, 60-81 months DOC at expiration.
  • Christopher Powell, 19, 1628 N.C. 55, Mount Olive, second-degree murder, pleaded guilty, Alford plea, 157-198 months Department of Correction, pay cost and restitution; robbery with dangerous weapon, pleaded guilty, 60-81 months DOC at expiration.

The following cases were disposed of in Pitt County superior court the week of Nov. 26.


  • Rakeem De’Andre Williams, 23, 1177 Middle St., Jamesville, common law robbery, pleaded guilty, 10-12 months Department of Correction; common law robbery, pleaded guilty, 13-16 months DOC at expiration, suspended, 24 months probation to begin upon release, obtain/maintain employment, pay cost, lawyer and restitution.
  • Dequan Daniels, 20, 1106 Fred Hardison Road, Williamston, common law robbery, pleaded guilty, 10-12 months Department of Correction; common law robbery, pleaded guilty, 13-16 months DOC at expiration, suspended, 24 months probation to begin upon release, obtain/maintain employment, pay cost, lawyer and restitution.
  • Donald R. Baker, 42, 134 Oakmont Drive, Apt. 13, three counts possession of cocaine, pleaded guilty, 90-96 judgment, suspended 18 months probation, de=rug education school, 24 hours community service, return to trial in 14 months, pay, cost, restitution and community service fee.
  • Antero Michael Rodriguez, 19, 2416-B Saddleback Drive, Winterville, two counts breaking and entering, pleaded guilty, six-17 months Department of Correction, suspended, 48 months probation, obtain/maintain employment, pay cost and restitution.
