A suspect in a vehicle break-in was located shortly after the incident Thursday and taken into custody by Greenville police.

Officers responded at 12:30 p.m. to a report of a car break-in in progress near the Kindercare Learning Center on Stantonsburg Road, according to a news release issued Friday.

A witness reported seeing a suspicious man running away from the area with a purse in his hands, police said.
