The Greenville Police Department is investigating three armed robberies that occurred Saturday, according to news releases issued Saturday night.
In the first incident, officers were called to Dickinson Avenue near Grande Avenue about 6 p.m.
A 32-year-old Greenville man reported he was walking on Dickinson when approached by four men who exited a Lincoln Town Car.
As they walked passed, Joseph Edward heard the “click” of a gun, a release said. Edward turned and found he was surrounded, and one of the robbers was pointing a black semi-automatic handgun at him, the release said.
One of the robbers said, “Give me the money and we will let you go.” Edward took out his wallet and gave them cash.
The suspects took the money and left in the Lincoln Town Car.
The four men were black, two were tall, one was “average height,” one was “short and stubby,” according to the description provided by police. All wearing ski masks and black coats
The car was an early 2000’s model Lincoln Town Car, cherry in color with chrome rims.
At 10:10 p.m. officers responded to the Holiday Inn Express, 909 Moye Blvd. The clerk reported a man wearing a black ski mask and blue jumpsuit entered the business through the front door, a news release said.
He pointed a black handgun at the clerk and told the clerk to give him money while waiving the handgun in the air.
The clerk gave him cash, and the robber fled the scene through the front door. He was observed by witnesses leaving in an older four-door grey vehicle.
The robber was described as white, in his 30s, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 240 pounds.
At 2 a.m., 0fficers responded to University Manor, 3525 E. 10th St., where three men reported they were involved in a traffic collision in the parking lot.
Three other men exited their vehicle, one armed with a handgun, and demanded money from the victims. One robber struck one of the victims in the face causing a laceration.
The robbers took $17 from one of the victims and fled the scene, a release said. The injured man refused medical attention at the scene.
The victims were Travis Howell, 20, of Lexington; Joseph Beasley, 20, of Lexington, and David Eisenhauer, 20, of Cary.
Limited descriptions of the suspects were available, and no description of the vehicle was provided.
