At the Music Academy of Eastern Carolina, Joules Brunier, Daniel Murphy and Kelly Galvin spent the past week learning the ropes of how to succeed in a rock and roll band. While participating in the Rock & Roll Academy, a weeklong camp at the academy on Red Banks Road in Greenville, the trio, along with instructor Todd Houck, committed themselves to writing, practicing and performing an original song.
Murphy, a guitarist from Snow Hill who has been playing for one year, played bass in the group. Galvin, of Greenville, who only picked up the guitar this past Christmas, played lead guitar. Brunier, from Paris, France, a concert pianist, played the keyboards and instructor Todd Houck supplied the beat on the drums.

Together, the four managed to combine elements from each of their musical tastes and construct a piece of music together. Because of the heat during their practices, they named themselves "90 degrees."
