Aroma Cafe reopens

Aroma Café and Catering has a new owner, but the cozy café at 3197-C E. 10th St. (beside A Cut Above salon) will continue to serve a similar menu of sandwiches, soups and salads.

Janice Dunham purchased the café — along with the logo, menu and recipes — from Greenville restaurateurs David and Becky Finelli, who opened the restaurant in November 2006. The Finellis said they sold the café because of the pressure of opening their large new Italian restaurant on Red Banks Road.

Hours are 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays-Fridays. No smoking is allowed. Call 752-7662.

Pirates Pub menu

Pirate's Pub and Restaurant has a new late-night menu that features The Cannon, a pound-and-a-half sub with turkey, ham, bell peppers, lettuce, tomato and onion topped with Russian dressing; and mini burgers with fries. The late-night menu is available from 10 p.m. until close.

Beginning at 5 p.m. each Friday, Pirate's Pub will hold a beach party with crab legs ($9.95 for a bucket) and peel-and-eat-shrimp ($12.95 for a bucket).

Pirate's Pub is at 1914 Turnbury Drive. Call 355-7956 or visit the Web site www.piratespubrestaurant.net.

The Green Lantern

The Green Lantern Irish Pub and Restaurant reopened Thursday with some new menu items. The restaurant was closed for the summer.

Additions to the appetizer menu include Emerald Isle Spinach and Artichoke Dip ($8.95) and St. James Guinness and Cheese Dip ($7.95), both made in-house. New salads include Farmhouse Salad ($7.95) and the Celtic Cobb Salad ($7.95), and new house-made side dishes are garlic-rosemary potato salad and homemade pasta salad. Sandwich additions include Shamrock Chicken ($7.95), Claddagh Turkey and Cranberry ($7.50) and Irish Smoked Salmon ($8.50).

Hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, 11 a.m.-midnight Fridays and Saturdays. Call 329-9082.

Dippin' Dots

Dippin' Dots, the cups of little beads of frozen ice cream often sold at sporting events and festivals or at kiosks at malls, will have a permanent retail space in Greenville soon.

Partners Richard Jenkins, Becky Pritchard and Randy Pritchard will open the Dippin' Dots franchise in Greenville, at the new Pirate's Chest shopping center at the corner of Greenville and Charles boulevards, across from McAlister's.

New Starbucks

Coffee lovers have a new spot to stop for a cup of java — Greenville's newest Starbucks coffeehouse is open at 100 E. 10th St.

The 1,850-square-foot location features café tables, chairs and upholstered furniture inside, as well as outdoor patio seating and drive-through services. The coffeehouse will serve Italian-style espresso beverages, both hot and cold, and a variety of pastries and confections. Roasted whole bean coffees also will be offered, along with coffee-related accessories and equipment.

Hours are 6 a.m.-11 p.m. Sundays-Thursdays and 6 a.m.-midnight Fridays-Saturdays.

New Arby's

A second Greenville location of Arby's has opened at 500 E. 10th St., the former location of Miami Subs.

The new location serves breakfast beginning at 6 a.m. daily. The breakfast menu includes breakfast wraps (sausage, bacon or ham with egg, cheese and hash browns for $1.99), ham and cheese croissant sandwich ($1.79) and biscuits.

The lunch and dinner menu includes Arby's signature roast beef sandwich ($2.69 for small) and beef and cheddar sandwich ($3.29 for small), several fried or grilled chicken sandwiches, a variety of deli sandwiches including chicken salad and BLT, three entree salads ($4.99 each), and new toasted subs ($3.79-$4.19). A kid's menu is offered.

Hours are 6 a.m.-2 a.m. daily.
