Day Seven

6:22 Ministries will host one of its annual gatherings, "Day Seven" at 6 p.m. May 2 on the Greenville Town Common. The event will be a community wide night of worship and prayer. Film festival

The Blu Moon Independent Film Festival will be held May 2-3 in East Carolina University's Fletcher Music Hall. Preliminary screenings will be held from 7-11 p.m. May 2 and red carpet screenings will be held from 7-11 p.m. May 3. Canine Crawl

The Humane Society of Eastern Carolina will hold the eighth annual Canine Crawl at 10:30 a.m. May 3 on the Town Common. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., and the event will conclude about 1:30 p.m. There will be a "No Breed" dog show with various categories including: Best Senior; Cute as a Button; Cutest Puppy and Most Ear-ristible Ears. Derby Dash

Shooting clinic

The Pitt County Wildlife Club will hold a Ladies Day instructional shooting clinic at 8 a.m. May 3 at the club, located about a quarter of a mile from the N.C. 43 and N.C. 222 East intersection near Falkland. The clinic will offer information about firearms, participation in recreational shooting and hands-on training from certified range officers. The cost is $20 and includes loaner firearms, ammunition, targets, instruction, eye and ear protection, lunch, drinks and snacks. Girls under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Migratory bird day

Goose Creek State Park will host its annual International Migratory Bird Day from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. May 3. The event will include a bird-a-thon competition, a birds of prey live show, canoe trips, hikes and coffee with the birds. Preregistration is required for the canoe trips and the hikes. Free. Blackbeard lecture

Historic Bath State Historic Site and the North Carolina Estuarium will present a lecture by researcher, author and documentary filmmaker Kevin P.
