J.H. Rose theater

The Rampant Theatrical Company will present the musical play "Fiddler on the Roof" in the Performing Arts Center at J. H. Rose High School, 600 W. Arlington Blvd. Performances will be at 7 p.m. today, Monday and Tuesday and at 2 p.m. Saturday. Tickets will be available at the door and are $10 for adults and $5 for students in grades K-12 and for senior citizens. Call 321-6277.

ECU baseball

East Carolina University baseball team will play a three-game series against Marshall at 7 p.m. today, 6 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday at Clark-LeClair Stadium. Farmville Theater

The Farmville Community Arts Council will present "Jesus Christ Superstar" at 8 p.m. today and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the Paramount Theatre, 3723 N. Main St., Farmville. The final days of Christ are dramatized through a stirring score. Tickets are $12 for members and $16 for others. Call 753-3832.

Pirates!

The second annual PirateFest will be held today and Saturday and will include an Uptown Greenville ArtWalk, the Uptown Arts Festival and the Purple/Gold Pigskin Pig-out. PirateFest comes alive at 11 a.m. Saturday as the Wake & District Bag Pipe Band leads a Parade of Pirates to the Town Commons. All costumed pirates are encouraged to walk in the parade. A costume contest will be held following the parade. PirateFest is a large outdoor celebration that combines old and new traditions that offer fun, food, and live entertainment for all. Art Walk

Uptown ArtWalk will be held from 6-9 p.m. Participants may walk through Uptown Greenville to visit the 12 participating venues displaying the work of local artists. There will be refreshments, music and the great uptown atmosphere. Free. Call 561-8400.

Queen Anne's Revenge

The Arlington Village Pirate Fest will be held from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at 803-A Red Banks Road in Arlington Village. Conservators from the Queen Anne's Revenge conservation lab will give a show-and-tell demonstration to illustrate some of the artifacts recovered from an early 18th century shipwreck in Beaufort Inlet. The wreck is believed to flagship of the pirate Blackbeard. Artifacts on display will include: cannon balls, lead shot, ceramics, the smallest cannon found at the wreck, and concretions. Conservators will explain, how the artifacts are conserved and studied, and what they are telling us about the wreck. Free.

Storybook theater

East Carolina University's Storybook Theatre will present "All Aboard America" at 7 p.m. in Wright Auditorium. This collection of heartwarming American stories illustrates our rich multicultural heritage and includes Paul Bunyan, cowboys and cowgirls, and a host of engaging characters leading a foot-stomping sing-along romp to original music. Tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for children. Call 328-4788.

Car wash

East Carolina University's women's rugby team will hold a fundraising car wash from 1-5 p.m. at Advance Auto Parts, 1903 S.E. Greenville Blvd. Money raised at the event will help send to the team to the nation's Elite 8 tournament in Albuquerque, N.M., for a chance to compete for a spot for the national title in California.

Business Expo

The third annual Minority Business Expo 2008 will be held from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club, Fire Tower Road. This expo will feature live entertainment, food, and speakers. The event is an opportunity to promote your businesses and products. Call 412-7496.

Eat-off

Andy's Burgers, Shakes & Fries will hold it final eat-off competition for its "Big A" Challenge at 11 a.m. at the Andy's in the food court at the Greenville Mall, formerly Colonial Mall. Contradance

The Folk Arts Society of Greenville and the ECU Folk and Country Dancers will hold a contradance from 8-10:30 p.m. in the Mendenhall Student Center social room on the East Carolina University Campus. Music will be provided by the Elderberry Jam and the caller will be Art Langrish. A dance lesson will be provided at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for members. $3 for students, $8 for others.

Rodeo

A Girl Scout Rodeo will be held from noon-4 p.m. at River Park North. The event, for Girl Scouts ages 5-12, will feature events such as barrel racing with stick horses. An 1800s chuckwagon will be on display. The event is free to the public.

Yard sale

South Central High School's Band Booster Club will hold a yard sale from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. on the lawn beside the school, 570 Forlines Road, Winterville. Proceeds will benefit the school's band.

Performathon

The Music Academy of Eastern Carolina will hold its 11th annual "Performathon" from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the academy, 1400 Red Banks Road. Performathon is a musical marathon of recitals by both students and faculty of the Music Academy. In addition to the entertainment, there will be refreshments and other fundraising sales. Story time

Sheppard Memorial Library's Children's Library will present a "Morning of Stories with Donna Washington" at 11 a.m. in the program room. The annual program is free and appropriate for families. Washington is dynamic storyteller and author who enjoys entertaining audiences of all ages. The library is 530 Evans St.

Hamstring Hustle

The 14th annual Hamstring Hustle 5K Run/Walk will be held at 2 p.m. at the Greenville Town Common. Registration begins 11 a.m. Registration fee is $23 (includes T-shirt) on the day of the race. Swamp hike

Goose Creek State Park, 2190 Camp Leach Road, Washington, N.C., will hold a Spring Swamp Hike at 3 p.m. Hike the park's most popular trail, the Palmetto Boardwalk, during this 45-minute ranger-led hike. Free. Meet in the Environmental Education and Visitor Center.

Shad festival

The 38th annual Shad Festival will be held in the town of Grifton Monday through April 20. Events include street dancing, parades, arts and crafts, carnival rides, food, vendors, shad tossing contest, classic cars and live music. Call 524-4356 or visit www.grifton.com.

Golf tournament

The Touchstone Energy Open Golf Tournament returns to Brook Valley Country Club Monday through April 20. Hit the links with the pros at the McDonald's Pro-Am as they compete during this major stop on the NGA Hooter's Tour. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Greenville Ronald McDonald House. Hot body contest

Tie Breakers Sports Bar and Grill will host a "hot body" contest at 10 p.m. each Wednesday night in April. Area radio station Bob 93.3 wants to find the best tan in eastern North Carolina to compete in the Triangle Beach Music Festival's bikini contest. Weekly winners receive $50 for first and second place, one certificate each for first and second for a 20 minute treatment at Light Bright Teeth Whitening ($129 value), and VIP tickets to the Beach Music Festival, where they will compete for cash. Thursday

ECU theater

ECU/Loessin Playhouse will present "Iphigenia in Aulis" by Euripides at 8 p.m. Thursday through April 22 except April 20, when the show will be held at 2 p.m. It's the first sacrifice of the Trojan War. The Greek ships are waiting at Aulis to advance to Troy but the Gods have stopped the winds because Agamemnon, the Greek commander has offended them. Tickets are $8-$12. Call 328-6829.

Fashion show

Apparel Artists with an Eye will host the "Into the Wild" fashion show from 7-10 p.m. at Sociology, 920 Dickinson Ave. Money raised at the show will be donated to Camp Rainbow. Tickets are $15 for VIP and $10 for general admission and will be available for purchase from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Wednesday at 703 E. Fifth St.

Upcoming

The Greenville Jaycees will hold its annual Shuck N' Pluck Oyster & Chicken Roast from 2-9 p.m. April 19 at the Boys & Girl Club of Pitt County, Fire Tower Road, Winterville. The event will include an all-you-can-eat evening of food and live music. Donation from this event assists many charitable causes and programs. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. The Carolina Pregnancy Center of Greenville and Washington, N.C., will hold its 14th annual Walk for Life from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 19 at the E.B. Aycock Middle School track.
