A hero is someone that you respect and look to for guidance. A hero is smart and has strength. A hero is trustworthy and has values. Mr. Baines is my hero because he is a wonderful teacher and friend. I can call upon him in a time of need. Mr. Baines is always there and cares about his students.
Mr. Baines has taught me more than music. He has taught me values. I know the value of music and the role that it plays in my education. In this day and time, everyone needs a friend that will stand up for them and fight for their success in education. Mr. Baines believes that everyone should have the opportunity to do what you love in your heart. He always says, "It doesn't matter if you are white, black, or blue, everyone is unique and special in their own way."
A hero might make you laugh. Mr. Baines has a great sense of humor and he is full of understanding. I truly believe that Mr. Baines' number one priority in life is to make his students happy by giving them opportunities. He teaches his students the importance of life and how you should follow through with your responsibilities. Every student deserves a teacher and friend like Mr. Baines.
A hero cares about the community and environment. Mr. Baines not only cares about our school, he cares about the community. On two occasions, our chorus had fed the homeless at the Greenville Community Shelter. Through his leadership, we have also raised money for some good causes.
Our chorus takes trips, attends concerts, and provides presentations for our community. This is personal time that Mr. Baines gives up for us. If Pactolus ever loses Mr. Baines, a lot of students would miss some great opportunities. I believe that he is not only my hero but others students' hero, too.
I hope that parents of students appreciate how Mr. Baines has given their children life-changing experiences. I hope my children have a teacher and hero like Mr. Baines.
