ECU Theater

Moe's is five

Moe's Southwest Grill at 610-B Red Banks Road will celebrate its fifth anniversary today. Festivities will include live music on the patio by Victor Hudson beginning around 6:30 p.m. A moon bounce and several other inflatables will be set up for children to play on; the parking lot in front of the restaurant will be blocked off for safety, and Moe's staff will be on hand to watch the children. Wine tasting

Fourth Street Wine Shop, corner of Fourth and Evans streets in downtown Greenville, will feature a complimentary "Wines to Impress Your Friends and Your Budget" from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Samples will include Crios Torrontes, Coastal Vines Pinot Noir and Altos Las Hormigas Malbec. City pool

The City Pool regular season runs through Aug. 10. Hours are 1:30-5:30 p.m. Fridays-Sundays and 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays-Thursdays. The pool is closed on Mondays. The public swim fee is $1.50 per day. Children age 3 and younger swim free with a paying adult. A nontransferable season swim pass is $10 for children, $15 for adults and $25 for a family. Call 329-4567.

Food drive

A local food drive, sponsored by Starbucks at Stanton Square to support the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, will be held from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. today and from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Scholarship luncheon

The Greenville Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority will host its fourth annual Pearls and Rubies Scholarship Luncheon from 1-3 p.m. in the great rooms at Mendenhall Student Center, East Carolina University. The program will honor seven women who strive to improve the community. Author Omar Tyree will be the speaker. Cost of the luncheon is $20. Sickle Cell walk

Koinonia Christian Church's rescheduled Walk for Sickle Cell will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Hilton Greenville, 301 S.W. Greenville Blvd. The walk raises awareness and financial support for the N.C. Sickle Cell Foundation and East Carolina University's Camp Hope, a summer camp for children affected by the disease. As part of the effort, Mayor Pat Dunn has proclaimed July 12 as Koinonia Christian Center Church's Walk for Sickle Cell Day. Registration will be held from 6:30-7:15 a.m. Cost is $20. Diabetes conference

The seventh annual Winning with Diabetes conference will be held from 8:15 a.m.-4 p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church, 2000 E. Sixth St. The conference is designed for people with diabetes and their families, friends and health care providers. Cost is $25, with a fee of $20 for each additional person in a family. The conference is sponsored by the Diabetes and Obesity Center, the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, Pitt Memorial Hospital Foundation, University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina and the ECU College of Nursing. Cook-out sale

Mount Hermon Lodge No. 35 F & A.M. will hold its annual cook-out plate sale beginning at 11 a.m. at the Masonic Lodge, 1105 W. Fifth St. The donation will be $5 per plate.

Future Islands

The Future Islands will play downtown at The Corner starting at 10 p.m. This is the group's last stop in town before they embark a nationwide tour with EAR PWR, beginning Thursday in Baltimore, and they won't be back until September. The Corner is at 122 E. Fifth Street.

Kinston Indians

The Kinston Indians will play a four-game home series against the Winston-Salem Wart Hogs at 7 p.m. Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday, 7 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. Tuesday. They will also play a home game against the Fredrick Keys at 7 p.m. Thursday. Games are played at Grainger Stadium, 440 E. Grainger St., Kinston. Tickets are $6 for reserved seating, $5 for general admission $4 for reserved senior, student and military and free for children 4 and under. Call 527-9111.

Young naturalist

Goose Creek State Park, 2190 Camp Leach Road, Washington, N.C., will sponsor "Young Naturalists: Flying Squirrels," for ages 6-12, at 10 a.m. Learn about the seldom-seen mammal. The presentation will be followed by a craft activity. Programs are held in the Environmental Education Center unless otherwise indicated. Call 923-2191.

Sunday in the Park

The Supergrit Cowboy Band will perform at 7 p.m. at Greenville Recreation and Parks' Sunday in the Park concert. Enjoy this country-western band with a large selection of tunes on the Town Common. Free. Call 329-4567.

Dog wash

The Marley Fund will hold a dog wash from 1-4 p.m. at Adam's Auto Wash, corner of Greenville Boulevard and Red Banks Road. Cost is $20 for large dogs, $15 for medium dogs and $10 for small dogs. Bald Eagles

Goose Creek State Park, 2190 Camp Leach Road, Washington, N.C., will hold a program for all ages on bald eagles at 3 p.m. The symbol of America was almost wiped off the planet during the 1970s. The hour-long program will include a discussion of this magnificent bird, its natural history and man's impact on its survival. The program will be followed by a hike along Goose Creek for a chance glimpse of the area eagles. Be prepared to travel as a group down to the parking area about two miles from the visitor center. Monday

RAW

WWE presents Monday Night RAW at 8 p.m. at RBC Center, 1400 Edwards Mills Road, Raleigh. Superstar wrestlers John Cena, HHH, Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho and JBL will be entering the ring. Tickets are $20-$70. Doors open at 7 p.m. Call (919) 834-4000.

Wednesday

Estuarium

The North Carolina Estuarium, 223 E. Water Street, Washington, N.C., will host "Wild and Wonderful Stories of Land and Sea," 1 p.m. Professional storyteller Terry Rollins will present the program. Upcoming

Emerge Gallery and Art Center, 404 S. Evans St., will hold an opening reception for its Greenville Brushstrokes and Austin Sheppard Sculpture exhibition from 6-9 p.m. July 17. Free. Call 551-6947.

Ham's Restaurant and Brewhouse is throwing its third-annual Ham's and Hogs Charity Ride for A-T Children's Project from 11 a.m.-2 a.m. July 19. Bikers will ride to Kinston and back. The restaurant will also have a Southern-style pig picking on the patio for $5 a plate, which includes potato salad and cole slaw. Three bands will perform. Call 830-2739.

The Couples' Dance Club will hold a Summer Luau from 8-11 p.m. July 18 at Rock Springs Equestrian Center. Chuck Eatman will perform. East Carolina Motor Speedway, 4918 U.S. 64 Alternate, Robersonville, will hold car races in all classes at 7 p.m. July 19. The grandstands open at 5 p.m. and qualifying races begins at 5:30.
