Boys & Girls Clubs names youth award winners

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Pitt County have named their Youth of the Year and Sportsmanship winners. Winners, named at the annual dinner, were selected by each of the five club units. Criteria for selection include having a positive attitude, being confident and acting as a role model for other youth.

    A team from Ayden-Grifton High School took top honors Saturday in the Sheppard Memorial Library Public Library Quiz Bowl.

    Ayden-Grifton defeated J.H. Rose High School 120 to 50 in the championship game. Teams from D.H. Conley and North Pitt High School also took part.
