Family Fare
East Carolina University's Family Fare series will present “All Aboard South America: Mighty Mysteries, Wonder and Mayhem!” at 7 p.m. Nov. 13. The play is an original musical written by professor Patricia Clark and performed by ECU Storybook Theatre. In the play, Professor Pontificator and friends travel to South America in search of great stories, including the Legend of the Dragonfly, the Lost City of the Incas, El Dorado, the Three Shovels and the Magical Lake. Halloween
Greenville Recreation and Parks Department will sponsor a “Haunted Halloween” for ages 5-14 from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at South Greenville Recreation Center. The free event will include games, arts and safety information about Halloween. Call 329-4549.
The Town of Farmville's Development Partnership will hold its annual hometown Halloween event from 6-8 p.m. Saturday in the downtown area. The event includes games, food, a haunted house and a costume contest. Free. Call 753-4670.

A Halloween carnival will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday for ages 12 and younger at the Greenville Civic Ballet, 2285 B County Home Road. The event is a fundraiser for the Dance Collective. Call 355-7880.
Christmas play
Smiles and Frowns Playhouse will present “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” at 7 p.m. Nov. 20 and 2 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Community Center in Ayden. Tickets are $4 in advance and $5 at the door. Teen Zone
Pitt County Community Schools and Recreation is sponsoring Teen Zone from 6-9 p.m. the first and third Fridays of the month through Dec. 11 at the Zone on Reedy Branch Road. The program is open to grades six-nine. Entry fee is $5, and no re-entry is allowed. Call 902-1975.
Halloween stories

The Martin/Pitt Partnership for Children, the local Smart Start organization, will host “Time-Out” Tuesday at 6 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Greenville Mall.
