held a fundraiser for Haiti. In one week, students raised more than
$350. The money is being donated to the American Red Cross for
Haiti relief.

Northwest Elementary School recently recognized their students for academic success and accomplishments during the second nine weeks of school. participated in the Librarian to Librarian Networking Summit at

South Greenville Elementary School students and
staff celebrated the 100th day of school recently with projects
centered on the number 100. The day ended with a program to
recognize the students who had been in attendance 100 days. Also,
many classes did mini-skits that incorporated the 100 theme. The
school held a contest for the most creative display using

Countywide
Wednesday is an early-release day. Pitt County public school students will be dismissed two hours earlier than the usual schedule.
Bethel School
The school will have a Grandparent’s Tea from 7:30-8 a.m. Friday.
D.H. Conley
The PTSA will host a PORT Human Services Program at 7 p.m. today in Room 107. The discussion will focus on drug abuse and other risky behaviors.
Falkland
The PTA will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Grades two-five will perform.
Farmville Middle
Opening ceremonies will be held at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday for a school “Winter Olympics.” Events will be Feb. 15-19.
G.R. Whitfield
A PTA meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 16 in the media center. Fundraising and the spring raffle will be discussed.
Hope Middle
A PTA meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 16 in the cafeteria. The program will feature Megan Pender, a teacher of deaf and hard of hearing students, and will focus on RISE (Reading Inspires Students in Exceptional Ways) as well as learning styles and organization strategies for success in school.
Oakwood
Admissions Open House will be held from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Pactolus
The school will have PTA hot dog bingo night at 6 p.m. Thursday.
St. Peter’s
An Intermediate Music Program will be held at 7 p.m. today in the gym.
There will be no school Monday.
The junior kindergarten and kindergarten lottery will begin at 10 a.m. Feb. 16.
South Greenville
A spelling bee is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday.
A Black History Month program will be held Feb. 16. The program for kindergarten through second grade will be held at 12:30 p.m., and the program for grades three-five will begin at 1:30 p.m.
Wellcome Middle
A PTA meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 16.
Wintergreen Intermediate
A physical education program and PTA meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday.
