Babies need lots of stuff and there are all sorts of new baby products in the market. What new products do kids like? We asked some local babies and their mommies to try out samples of some of the new products that were offered to Her magazine by their manufacturers.

TruKid skincare line for children:
"Although the scent of the Bubbly Body Bar is overwhelming when you first open the box, it smells good on the skin. Linden's skin is sensitive and it did not break her out. It makes a lot of bubbles.
"I like the Friendly Face Wash. It is all natural and cleans the face without breaking it out.
"The Happy Face and Body Lotion makes the skin very smooth. It works better than any other I've ever tried."
— Renee Wright
"Jordan and I both enjoyed the TruKid Friendly Face Wash. It smelled great, was tear free and, most of all, it was chemical free. It also gave Jordan a chance to learn how to wash her own face, and she seemed to enjoy that"
— Emily Creech
"Carter absolutely loved the "Funny Foot Cream" just because I told him it was "Funny Foot Cream," and he laughed every night after his bath when we put it on. It has a very nice, clean natural smell and rubs on smoothly. It left his feet soft and best of all NOT greasy or wet feeling. Most toddlers do not like lotions because they have a wet feeling, and this one dried fast, leaving soft and smooth tiny little toes. This product is chemical-free and safe for toddlers, which is a plus in case any of it gets in their mouth. This product is also not tested on animals. In addition to putting it on Carter's feet, I also used it on my hands and arms and also like the non-greasy feeling.
"I used the Hero Stick several times when Carter got a scrap or bump and it worked nicely. It was not greasy like some healing creams. It has natural ingredients, which is comforting to me. Carter loved the fact that when he hurt himself we had a "special" stick to help heal him. He also has some dry places on his skin on which I used this stick, and it worked pretty well. I will continue to use and see what results we get in the long run."

"Breastfeeding Sucks: What To Do When Your Mammaries Make You Miserable" by Joanne Kimes:
"This is a great read on the joys and trials of breast-feeding. It gives the reader a realistic glimpse into what it takes to breast-feed from pre-birth to weaning. With comic undertones, this book has a realistic way of telling you everything you need to know to make an informed decision without the pressure other books give. I enjoyed this easy read and recommend it to women who are pregnant and nursing."
— Elaine Robertson
"Breastfeeding Sucks, a paperback book from Adams Media Corporation, is available for $9.95 from national booksellers and on Web sites www.amazon.com and www.barnes&noble.com.

Taggies Big Soft Blocks:
"Harrison loved the blocks! The four blocks were all brightly colored and all made a different sound. The colors and of course the "taggies" hanging off of them held Harrison's attention. He especially loved the block that made a crackling sound when he squeezed it. I would recommend these blocks for any baby!"
— Danielle Boardman
The set of four large (9-by-4-by-81/2-inch) soft blocks feature colorful animal images made with tactile elements. The blocks make silly sounds and may be hooked together. They cost $29.95 and are available at www.Taggies.com.
Rollee Pollee roll-up fleece blanket with pillow:
"I love the green sleep mat! My favorite part of the mat was how it folded up and you could still use it as a blanket. The attached pillow was neat and it was very soft. I would recommend this mat to any of my friends."
— Hanley Anne Boardman, age 5

"Quick Guide to Good Kids" by Virginia Bentz:
The book "Quick Guide to Good Kids" is very practical and informative. The author offers good, simple ideas for complex issues. I like the fact that she used her own personal experience in raising her children when writing this book. She gives 10 basic principles to handling issues of children from birth to a young adult. Very good read.
— Donna Phillips Askew
"Quick Guide to Good Kids," a paperback book from Federick Fell Publishers, Inc., is available for $11.95 at bookstores nationwide and from major online booksellers. For more information, visit the Web site www.QuickGuideToGoodKids.com.
Secure2Me Eclipse blanket:
"The Secure2Me blanket is a modification on the everyday baby blanket. It has clips on all four corners so you can attach the blanket to a car seat or stroller. It comes in a variety of fabrics. The Solarveil fabric is lightweight and blocks out UV rays. It comes in very handy on windy days when the average blanket will blow off, leaving your little one exposed. It worked great for me because my little one likes to kick, causing her blanket to fall on floors and in parking lots. With the Secure2Me blanket, she could kick but the blanket was clipped securely to her seat so it didn't fall."
— Elaine Robertson
The Secure2Me Eclipse clip-on blanket is made of sheer fabric that blocks 95 percent of the sun's harmful UVA/UVB rays. It comes in four colors and retails for $29. It's available from the Web site www.secure2Me.com.
