Does your bathroom need to be updated? Here are some suggestions:
• Wall color sets the mood for a bath, so start there and choose carefully. However, if you make a mistake, repainting is the most economical way to change the bath’s look. Always stay with a light shade, as a high reflective color is needed for makeup application and shaving. My most successful projects have included pale apricot (Stark Paint, Coral I) and seafoam (Sherwin-Williams SW7070).
• The next step: floors, mandatory to be durable and non-slick. The choices range from tile, marble, granite, terra cotta and, surprise, wood, if properly finished. For large baths, limestone has always been a favorite for my clients as it is the least slippery given it’s texture. Neutral floors are practical and preferable.
