Trained opera singer Rosa Creech recently moved to Greenville from Greensboro.
A soprano, she earned a degree in vocal performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is a private voice instructor for The Music Academy of Eastern Carolina. She also is a server at Christinnne’s Grille and Chophouse in The Hilton Greenville.
“Singing is my passion,” she says. “It means everything to me when I am able to introduce someone to opera and they appreciate everything that it is as an art form.”
She’s also a pageant winner, earning the title of North Carolina’s Rhododendron Queen 2011. “This pageant has been going on for 65 years and is a great tradition in the western part of the state. Besides the generous prize money, I had the privilege of traveling the entire state for a year doing appearances, performing at events and riding in more parades than I can count!”
Shoes are her guilty pleasure. “I have over 150 pairs of high heels alone,” she says. “It’s hard to stop!”
She’s always wanted to sky dive, wishes she could dance (“I’m terrible,” she says), and is a night owl. “I will always be on time if I have to get up early, but I would much rather sleep in,” she says.
“My fiancé, David Marsh, is a dental student at the brand new East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine,” she says. “We will be getting married in April and we’re both very excited!”
