Tracy Burton, 37, says her passion is education and the arts.

The owner of Diamond Pointe Properties and BVS of Eastern N.C., she says her proudest accomplishment is starting a scholarship fund for seniors in the Pitt County public schools.

A native of Philadelphia, she earned a degree in anthropology from Temple University. She has been married to Greenville dentist Kevin Wade Burton Sr. for 15 years and is the mother of Kevin Jr., 9, and Rebecca, 7. Her hobbies include reading and knitting.

She is a member of Women for Women of Greenville, and this year is a Champions Circle member who has volunteered to help match new membership funds. She also is a member of the NAACP, The Children's Defense Fund and Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church.

Her community service work includes involvement with Literacy Volunteers of Pitt County and Democracy NC. She serves on the board of Emerge Gallery and Art Center and is an educational cabinet member of the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce.

Here's more about Her:

Words I live by:

"Everyone has the power for greatness, not for fame but for greatness, because greatness is etermined by service." Dr. M.L. King

My favorite smell is:

Jasmine.

The world would be a better place, if only:

Everyone cleaned up their own mess.

If I could do it all again I would:

Have killed my inner perfectionist sooner.

I couldn't live without:

My faith.

One thing I've always wanted to do but never have:

Travel the Mediterranean.

What's always in my refrigerator:

Pickles.

My theme song would be:

"Try A Little Tenderness" by Otis Redding.

My favorite possession:

My children's artwork. I keep everything.

My passion is:

Education and the arts.

If I were a super-heroine, I would:

Want super strength. I need to clean beneath my sofa.

Right now, I'm reading:

"Outliers, The Story Of Success" by Malcolm Gladwell.

What I wanted to be when I grew up:

An architect.

The best advice my mother ever gave me:

Love yourself.

My favorite place in the world:

Kiawah Island, SC.

The worst idea I ever had:

I dyed my hair red at 14.

My favorite book:

"The Good Earth" by Pearl Buck.

I've always wanted to learn:

How to play the cello.

What brings me joy:

My knitting.

I collect:

Rocks. When friends travel, I ask them to bring me one back.

Someone should invent:

A snooze button for kids.

In my spare time I like to:

Spare time? What's that?

My best age was:

Age 38, because I am 37 and the best is yet to come.

Tracy, I am so proud of you. Your picture is absolutely fabulous. As Dana and I always say, "There is a spot for you in Heaven". My life is richer by having you in it.
