Police arrest two in shooting
Police have arrested two men in connection with an exchange of gunfire between people in a moving vehicle and people at a home on Chestnut Street in the early morning hours of April 19.

As a gold Toyota Camry cruised by 1105-A Chestnut St., shots were fired out of a window toward the home, where several people were on the porch, according to a Greenville Police Department news release.

At the home, at least one person fired shots back toward the Camry, according to the release.

One of the shots coming from the house hit Thomas Lee James, 16, in the face. James, of 305-A Raleigh Ave., was inside the Camry.

Several shots fired from the Camry hit a 1999 Nissan Sentra parked in front of the Chestnut Street home. Although there were people inside the Sentra, nobody was hit, according to the release. No one was hit at the Chestnut Street home, either.

Inside the home, the shots damaged a $2,900 TV and a door, according to police.

Investigators believe Michael Twann Harris, 22, of 302-A Horseshoe Drive was one of the people at the Chestnut Street home. Warren was served with warrants Wednesday in connection with James being shot.

He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or cause serious injury, common law robbery and a probation violation.

James also was arrested Tuesday and charged with five counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Harris was being held Wednesday at the Pitt County Detention Center on a $150,000 bond, and James on a $250,000 bond.

Items stolen
Residents of a Fairfax Avenue home said someone stole a $1,000 TV, and $550 worth of other items from their home between April 17 and Tuesday.
