The Greenville Police Department is investigating a pair of vehicle break-ins at an apartment complex. Two residents of a complex on Juniper Lane reported thefts from their cars Tuesday morning. A 31-year-old man told police two stereos worth a total of $575 were taken from his car late Monday night or early Tuesday morning. There was no sign of forced entry, according to a police report. Also, a 33-year-old Juniper Lane resident reported $500 in damage to her car from a break-in. The driver's-side door handle had been pried off. Missing from the car was a purse holding $3 in cash, a debit card and paperwork.
A 42-year-old woman reported $700 in stereo equipment stolen from her car in the 100 block of Camellia Lane. The car's ignition system also suffered $300 in damage from an attempt to steal the vehicle, according to a police incident report.
Woman assaulted
A 22-year-old resident of the 1400 block of Rams Horn Road reported Tuesday that her boyfriend had kicked and beaten her Monday night, according to an incident report. The woman suffered unspecified internal injuries in the incident, which occurred at the victim's home.
A 28-year-old Farmville man reported suffering minor injuries in an assault. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 3100 block of N.C. 121 in Farmville.
Car damaged
A 42-year-old Farmville man reported $4,500 in damage to his car. The damage occurred at the man's home in the 6000 block of Stantonsburg Road in Farmville.
Construction equipment suffered $1,200 in damage at a worksite near the intersection of N.C. 43 and U.S. 264 in Greenville.
Someone used a firearm to enter the site and damaged a bucket truck and toolbox, both owned by Birmingham, Ala.-based Global Enterprise Rental Co.
A Pitt County man reported $1,000 in damage to tobacco plants on cropland he owns. The damage occurred Saturday afternoon.
Air conditioners stolen from church
Two air conditioners with a total value of $550 were taken from Beacon Free Will Baptist Church in Farmville between Monday evening and Tuesday morning, according to a Pitt County Sheriff's Office incident report.
