Greenville police arrested a man Tuesday in connection with the theft of a friend's car.
A 37-year-old woman reported to the Greenville Police Department on Saturday that a friend took her 1996 Jeep Cherokee from a business in the 1600 block of Farmville Boulevard without her permission.
Police arrested David Lee Martin, 38, of 1802 W. Third St. and charged him with larceny of a motor vehicle. Martin was held at Pitt County Detention Center on a $50,000 secured bond.
Home burglary
A man reported that someone entered his home in the 300 block of Horseshoe Drive via a window Tuesday and stole a television valued at $1,400, a DVD player valued at $120 and $30 cash.
Car break-in
A 19-year-old woman reported that someone broke her car windows at a business in the 400 block of Red Banks Road on Monday and stole cosmetics valued at $100, a purse and wallet valued at $100, a computer drive valued at $30 and several pieces of identification.
Home larceny
A 33-year-old man reported that someone climbed through the rear window of his home in the 1300 block of Cotanche Street on Monday and stole a gold ring valued at $600, a digital camera valued at $300 and a portable video game valued at $250.
Woman assaulted
A 45-year-old woman reported to the Pitt County Sheriff's Office that she was assaulted at her home in the 700 block of Seven Pines Road on Monday.
Deputies arrested Gary Lee Drew, 49, of the same address and charged him with assault on a female. Drew was held without bond at Pitt County Detention Center.
Stolen vehicle
A 29-year-old woman reported that someone stole her green 2004 Kia Optima valued at $5,000 from the roadside in the 3400 block of Yankee Hall Road on Tuesday.
Trailer stolen
A juvenile reported that a stranger stole a utility trailer valued at $5,000 from open land near Stokestown-St. Johns Road and County Home Road on Monday.
Car break-in
A 51-year-old man reported that a stranger entered his car outside his home in the 1000 block of Pine Drive in Winterville on Monday and stole a digital camera valued at $900 and stereo equipment valued at $200.
A 21-year-old man reported that someone broke into his car in the 1300 block of Briley Road on Monday and stole stereo components valued at $510.
