Greenville police officers responded to a report that someone choked a 29-year-old woman on the street at Columbia Avenue and Chestnut Street on Saturday. No injuries were reported.
Officers arrested Lennie Haywood Phillips, 42 of 100 Lakeview Terrace and charged him with assault on a female. Phillips was being held without bond Saturday at the Pitt County Detention Center.
Robbery
Officers investigated a report that someone struck a man in the head and took $500 from him in the 1600 block of Chestnut Street on Friday. The victim sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Assault, man cut
Officers responded to a report that a 43-year-old man was assaulted by his friend, who cut him with a sharp object, possibly a piece of glass, at a residence in the 1400 block of East 10th Street on Saturday.
The incident resulted in minor injuries.
Armed robbery
Pitt County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report at 11:17 p.m. on Friday that someone entered a home in the 600 block of Danielle Drive with a shotgun in hand and stole six wallets, two cell phones valued at $500 and $2,366 in cash from six people who were in the home at the time.
Two other people reportedly witnessed the incident. No injuries were reported.
Break-in, larceny
Deputies investigated a report that someone used a wrench or pliers to break into the home of a 47-year-old man in the 7800 block of N.C. 43 South in Greenville and steal a white 2007 Toyota Sienna van valued at $20,000 and two televisions valued at $550.
