Two 18-year-old males were assaulted Saturday on Evans Street near Reade Circle just after 2 a.m., according to a report from the Greenville Police Department.
One was hit in the mouth hard enough to lose at least one tooth, and the other was struck in the back of the head. He suffered severe cuts, the report stated.
The East Carolina University students and roommates told police they did not recognize the attacker.

A 38-year-old female was assaulted when someone she knew hit her in the neck Saturday in the 200 block of Tobacco Road. A 38-year-old man was also assaulted at that location. No injuries were reported.
Cash taken
Someone stole more than $800 from a 23-year-old's safe at an apartment in the 300 block of Verdant Drive on Saturday.
Two vehicles were stolen over the weekend, according to Pitt County Sheriff's Office reports. Also reported to Pitt County Sheriff's Office:
A Grimesland couple's 2003 Chevrolet S10 pickup was stolen from their home in the 600 block of Langley Drive either late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. The truck is valued at $10,000 and the victims were home at the time.
A 30-year-old Winterville woman's 1994 Ford Escort, worth $4,000, was stolen from the 2300 block of Old River Road on Saturday.
Vehicle parts taken
More than $7,800 in vehicle parts and accessories were stolen from a 27-year-old's residence in the 3300 block of Frog Level Road either Wednesday or Thursday.
Women assaulted by boyfriend
Minor injuries were reported after a 30-year-old woman was assaulted by her boyfriend at her home in the 1600 block of Sandstone Court on Sunday.
