A 23-year-old male was shot in the leg Sunday at the intersection of Sixth and Davis streets.
Greenville Police Department officers are still investigating the shooting of Travon Little, said Cpl. Kip Gaskins, and have received conflicting stories about the events leading to the incident.
Little was transported to Pitt County Memorial Hospital, where he has since been treated and released, according to a hospital spokesman.

A 42-year-old man was struck in the head with a handgun and shot at by an acquaintance in the 1400 block of Spruce Street on Friday. He had minor injuries.
Men beaten unconscious
Two 20-year-old males were seriously injured and one beaten unconscious after being punched and kicked multiple times in a parking lot in the 500 block of Evans Street on Saturday. The following day a 27-year-old man was beaten unconscious in the 500 block of the Cotanche Street roadway.

An 18-year-old female was struck with a stick and a rock causing minor injuries at her home in the 1400 block of Broad Street on Sunday.
Minor injuries were reported after a 19-year-old female was choked and scratched by a friend who also prevented her from calling the police at a residence in the 500 block of Spring Forest Road on Sunday.
Later that day police arrested Corvette Dominique Eugene Lane, 19, 2616 Whitaker Drive Apt. E7, and charged him with assault on a female and interfering with emergency communications. He was confined to Pitt County Detention Center on a $1,000 bond.
An 18-year-old male was lunged at with a knife Saturday at his home in the 3000 block of Adams Boulevard. Police later arrested Ramon Deroncele, 16, and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon. The victim was not hurt.
A 31-year-old female was unharmed when someone spit at her and pushed her down at a residence in the 100 block of David Drive on Sunday.
No injuries were reported by a 46-year-old female whose friend grabbed her by the hair and slapped her at her home in the 1200 block of Park West Drive on Sunday.
A 24-year-old male was not hurt when someone he knew hit him in the head at his home in the 1400 block of Bernice Lane on Saturday.
Armed robbery
A 22-year-old male was robbed at gunpoint Saturday at his residence in the 700 block of Johnston Street. He was unharmed. The gunman was an acquaintance, the report said, and he stole a $1,300 laptop, a $1,100 laptop, a $200 cell phone, $80 in cash, a $50 wallet and keys to a car and the apartment. He was unharmed.
Gun stolen
A .40 caliber Beretta 900S gun, worth $500, was stolen from a 30-year-old Person County Sheriff's Office employee on Saturday. The robber walked into a room at the Greenville Motel, 2309 S. Memorial Drive, and took both the gun and $25 worth of ammunition.

Someone kicked in the back door of a residence in the 300 block of Line Avenue and stole a $1,200 laptop and a $140 DVD player on Friday.
The front door was pried open and $1,200 in cash was stolen from an apartment in the 2900 block of East Fifth Street on Saturday.
Someone entered an unlocked bedroom window at a residence in the 3300 block of East 10th Street and stole a $1,200 notebook computer from an 18-year-old resident on Saturday.
Someone stole a $400 laptop, $200 in food and beverages, a pair of $13 flip-flops, and a $10 jacket from a residence in the 700 block of Johnston Street on Sunday.
Two men arrested on drug charges
A four-week long investigation ended Saturday when two men were arrested on drug charges.
Dominic Teach, 31, and Nikolia McHealovitch Dixon, 27, both of Kinston, were taken into custody on River Bluff Road in Greenville.
Teach was charged with two counts possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, four counts sell and deliver cocaine and possession of firearm by a felon. He remains at PCDC on a $200,000 secured bond.
Dixon is charged with one count possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, one count possession of marijuana and one count possession of drug paraphernalia. He is also at PCDC under a $25,000 secured bond.
This sting netted approximately $1,000 worth of marijuana and cocaine, a semi-automatic handgun and a 2001 Buick LaSabre.
Assaults
A 25-year-old man was assaulted at a residence in the 5000 block of N.C. 903 South, Ayden, on Sunday. He had minor injuries.
