Police investigate theft from vehicle

Greenville Police officers investigated a report that someone entered an unlocked car Tuesday in the 1600 block of McClellan Street and stole a stereo system valued at $350.

Pitt County

Pitt County Sheriff's deputies investigated several assaults Wednesday:

A 50-year-old man was reportedly assaulted at 12:30 a.m. by someone he knew in a parking lot in the 7300 block of N.C. 33 East, resulting in minor injuries.

Deputies responded to a report that a 23-year-old man was assaulted by a nephew at his home in the 200 block of Northwest Acres Drive. No injuries were reported in the incident.

A 49-year-old woman was reportedly assaulted by an acquaintance at her home in the 3100 block of Pine Bark Road. No injuries were reported.

Also in Pitt County on Wednesday:

Metal stolen

Deputies investigated a report that someone stole a pump, pipes and metal valued at $4,100 from a 52-year-old man's property in the 3400 block of Fleming Road in Stokes.

State property stolen

An employee of the N.C. Division of Wildlife Resources reported that someone broke into a state vehicle and stole a Motorola communication radio valued at $2,000 and a flashlight valued at $150.
