The acerbic Cotswold detective Agatha Raisin is at it again, and Sheppard Memorial Library has a copy waiting for you. “As the Pig Turns,” by M.C. Beaton, once again features the gruff and acerbic detective.

Agatha has been accused of many things, being short-tempered, sharp-tongued and eccentric to name a few, but now she’s accused of murder. She was given a traffic ticket by the village’s most unpopular policeman, Officer Beech, for taking her hands off the steering wheel to blow her nose while waiting in traffic. A few days later, the same officer gave Agatha another ticket, this time for going 2 mph over the speed limit.

Furious with the ticket, Agatha had stomped into the village shop and announced to one and all, “I’d like to kill him! May he roast slowly over a spit in hell!”
