Collard Festival

The Ayden Collard Festival will accept entries for its art show from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday at the Ayden Community Building, 548 Second St. First-, second- and third-place prizes will be awarded as well as Best in Show and Viewer’s Choice.   • Farmville Community Arts Council will hold auditions for “Annie” at Paramount Theatre, 3723 N. Main St., from 7-9 p.m. Sunday-Monday for ages 5 and older. Performance dates are Oct. 19-21 and 26-27. Call 753-3832.
  • The Greenville Choral Society Youth Chorale will conduct an audition for the 2012-13 season from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sept. 6 at St. James United Methodist Church, 2000 E. Sixth St. The Youth Chorale is open to singers in ninth through 12th grade and will perform concerts Dec. 1 and April 13. Rehearsals begin Sept. 10. Call Christopher Smith at 481-5703.

Play contest

Magnolia Arts Center is accepting scripts for its seventh annual Ten-Minute Play contest until Aug. 31. Entries must be no longer than 10 minutes when read or performed. A panel of judges will pick the top five entries, which will receive a staged reading for the public in November. A $50 prize was be awarded to the winner the audience chooses. The Greenville Museum of Art, 802 S. Evans St., will hold the GMA Annual Juried Art Exhibition from Sept. 7-Oct. 7. The exhibition will include work of more than 50 artists. Call 758-1946 or visit www.gmoa.org.
