Art galleries and exhibition spaces are coming together for a countywide exhibition for the first time,
and their collaboration, despite the fact that they compete for business with one another, speaks to the theme of their event: Love.

A total of 13 separate spaces in Pitt County will be participating in the Love Exhibition in February, with each one hosting an opening reception from 6-8 p.m. today.

Barbour Strickland, owner of Strickland Art Gallery, came up with the idea and has been working for more than a year to see it come to fruition. He estimates the themed exhibition in which every gallery in the county is participating is a first in the state’s history.
