  • Ayden First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 4049 N.E. College St., Ayden, will host guest speaker Jimmy Forehand and musical guest Rhema at 10:45 a.m. Sunday.
  • Black Jack Original Free Will Baptist Church, 2972 Black Jack-Simpson Road, will have revival at 6 p.m. Sunday and at 7 p.m. Monday-Wednesday. Mike Scott, pastor of Juniper Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Vanceboro, will be the guest speaker. The church will have a homecoming service at 10 a.m. Oct. 20.
  • Black Jack Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 2581 Black Jack-Grimesland Road, will have its annual homecoming services at 10 a.m. Sunday with a gospel concert by The Oak Grove Boys. Worship services will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a covered-dish lunch in the fellowship hall at 12:30 p.m.
  • Burning Bush United Holy Church, 280 Bailey Lane, Vanceboro, will celebrate Pastor Molly Davis’ fifth anniversary with services as 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Friday, and 3 p.m. Oct. 20. Guests include Bishop Terry Best and Mount Carmel Church, Pastor Michael Pretty and Joe’s Branch Free Will Baptist Church and Bishop T.L. Davis and Progressive Free Will Baptist Church. A music program will be presented at 6 p.m. Oct. 19.
  • Clemons Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3028 Clemmons School Road, Stokes, will celebrate its pastor’s anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday. Pastor Robert L. Watts of Belmont Missionary Baptist Church, Robersonville, will be guest speaker.
  • First Baptist Church, 628 Third St., Ayden, will have its annual homecoming service at 11 a.m. Sunday. Lunch will follow in the fellowship hall. Revival services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday-Wednesday. The Rev. Ben Tugwell, pastor of Integrity Church, will be guest speaker. Child care will be provided.
  • Emmanuel Community Unison Baptist Church, 3501 Speight Seed Farm Road, Winterville, will have its 15th annual harvest of jubilee and 10th holy convocation at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Friday. Guests will include Pastor Jessie Wilson of New Deliverance Free Will Baptist Church, Ayden, and Apostle Melvin Murphy of Sweet Hope Free Will Baptist Church, Grimesland.
  • Haddock Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 1548 Ivy Road, Winterville, will honor retired teacher Virginia Jones at 11 a.m. Sunday for her years of service to the church.
  • Holly Hill Original Free Will Baptist Church, 755 Porter Road, will have senior citizens appreciation day at 10 a.m. Sunday.

  • King’s Crossroads Original Free Will Baptist Church, 2080 Seven Pines Road, will have revival services at 7 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. The guest evangelist will be the Rev. Billy Keith of Durham. Childcare will be provided.
  • Mills Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 4943 Gaskins Road, Grimesland, will have a Communion service at 3 p.m. today. Quarterly meeting service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, followed by a fellowship dinner at 2 p.m.
  • Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 4284 West Ave., Ayden, will have a deacons’ anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Charles Roberson and St. Paul Disciples of Christ Church will be guests.
  • Mount Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 230 Boyd St., Winterville will celebrate its 134th church anniversary on Sunday. There will be a skit and a presentation of the church history. Refreshments will be served.
  • Mount Zion Holy Church, 3325 Ayden Golf Club Road, Winterville, will have holy convocation at 7:30 p.m. today and 11 a.m. Sunday. Pastor Virgil Smith and First Born Holiness Church of Grimesland will be today’s guests. The church will have joy night service at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19.
  • New Hope Full Gospel Church of Ayden will celebrate Elder James Lindsay’s pastor’s anniversary at 4 p.m. Sunday. Elder Jimmy Stokes and Waterside Free Will Baptist Church of Farmville will be guests.
  • Rock Spring Free Will Baptist Church, 3504 N.C. 43 N., will have men’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday. Elder Dewayne Thompson and Holly Hill male choir will be guests.
  • Salem United Methodist Church, 785 McDonald St., Simpson, will have its annual homecoming under the big top at 10 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Sid Huggins will be guest speaker. A covered dish luncheon will follow, and childcare will be provided.
  • St. Matthew True Born Faith of Christ Church, 601 Norris St., will celebrate Pastor Angelene Brinkley’s third anniversary with services at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Friday. Guests include the Rev. A.C.   • Sweet Gum Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church, 787 Sweet Gum Grove Church Road, Stokes, will have homecoming services at 11 a.m. Sunday. Lunch on the grounds will follow. The Rev. Stan Asby will speak.


  • Mount Calvary Free Will Baptist Church will host the Fabulous Fall Festival from 6:30-9 p.m. Friday at the Barnes Ebron Taft Center, 401 Greenfield Blvd.
  • New Beginnings Deliverance Center will have a benefit lunch and dinner sale beginning at 11 a.m. Oct. 19 at 2512 S. Memorial Drive. Fish or hot dog lunches and dinners will be available for $4-$10.
  • New Life Outreach Ministries, 249-J Third St., Ayden, will host a women’s gala at 3 p.m. Sunday. The event will feature music and several speakers.
  • St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, 1701 Staton Mill Road, will have its annual fall bazaar beginning at 7 a.m. today. The event will include vendors, a Bible bingo game, and a “Top Chef” cook-off at noon. The church will celebrate the anniversary of Faithful Few male chorus at 5 p.m. Oct. 19.
  • St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 107 Louis St., will host its annual Lobster Fair from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. today. The fair will include local musicians, children’s activities, a bake sale and silent auction. Proceeds will be used for outreach ministries.
  • Rose Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 6236 County Home Road, will host a Tuesday’s Children meeting at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Kip Gaskins from the Pitt County Sheriffs’ Department will speak on the senior volunteer calling program. Music will be by Samuel and Judy Jones. Lunch will be served.


  • St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 401 E. Fourth St., will have a choral evensong service at 5 p.m. Oct. 20. The choir will sing “My Song Will Be Alway of the Loving Kindness of the Lord” by Gerald Near, “Dark and Comely Evening Veils” by Carlton Young, the responses by Bernard Rose and the “Magnificat” and “Nunc Dimittis” by Phillip Moore.
  • White Oak Missionary Baptist Church, 4525 Mobley’s Bridge Road, Grimesland, will host Brothers-N-Christ of Tarboro in concert at 3 p.m. Sunday.
