Superheroes and villains
Superhero costumes have always been popular, but the plethora of DC and Marvel movies released in the past couple of years has taken the trend to the next level.
Perhaps the biggest comic book-based movie of 2017 was “Wonder Woman.” Dress up as Diana Prince with this costume, which comes complete with her headband and bracelets.
Wonder Woman, $59.99
Accessorize: Curl the ends of your hair or add a curly brown wig. Wear red or brown boots.
If you’d prefer to explore your dark side, dress up as Harley Quinn from “Suicide Squad.”
Misfit Hipster, $54.99
Accessorize: Wear your hair in high pigtails. Complete the look by using red eye shadow on your right eye and blue eye shadow on your left eye, and use eyeliner to draw a small heart on your upper right cheek.
Wahoo! Have a blast with Luigi, Peach and the gang in this Super Mario costume, which comes with a mustache on a stick.
Super Mario, $59.99
Accessorize: Wear a short black wig. Add black sneakers for comfort or red pumps for a little va-va-voom.
Who hasn’t wanted to be a mermaid? This costume’s scale-patterned leggings are a great way to get the look without having to waddle all night.
Rebel Mermaid, $59.99
Accessorize: Wear colorful hair extensions or color hair spray. Add a trident so the other fish in the sea know you mean business.
Looking for something a little more risqué? This sultry take on the original Disney princess is perfect for partying long after the clock strikes midnight.
Passionate Princess, $139.99
Accessorize: Put your hair in a bun and add white gloves to mirror the classic Cinderella outfit. Wear glittery flats if you plan to do a lot of walking, or go with gold heels for a head-turning look.
