Thursday, October 29, 2009

Name: Kelly Speicher of Rucker John's

Age: 30

Bartending experience: two years in Greenville; nearly two years in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

What's your favorite drink to make? An Island Breeze. It's one of our signature drinks.

What's the best part about working at Rucker John's? I have a bunch of regulars who come and see me every day and it's a good environment; great managers.

What are your Thanksgiving plans? I'm going back to Fayetteville to see my mom and dad.

Are you a Black Friday shopper or do you wait until the last minute? I wait until the last minute.

Are you a Pirate fan? Yes.

Do you think ECU will make it to the championships? Heck yea! Go, Pirates!

What's the best part about being a bartender? You can BS around and meet more people. It's a lot more laid back here.

What's one thing you would like to improve? We could have more pitchers back here … the set up back here is actually perfect for us.

Which is the best night of the week to work? Wednesdays because of jazz night and half-priced bottles of wine.

Tell me about your best tip? When the guys were here watching the Kentucky Derby and they tipped me very well. ... Over $100.
