Irvine nomintaed for JNFE award, performing at ceremony

Local rockers Irvine (who you may have seen at XFest 9.5, Unk's or The Corner) have been confirmed to walk the red carpet as performers, but still need your help to be one of the night's winners.

Just Not Famous Enough, an independent entertainment enterprise, has hand picked the group and nominated them for the JNFE::AWARD, Best NC Grunge Band. Tuesday, they also asked them to perform at the show.

Gabrielle Dimora, assistant to the C.E.O. at JNFE, said nominees are looked at by affiliates at Billboard Magazine, Transworld Entertainment and Amanda Mosher, executive liaison of the Grammy’s. They are then included on a Web site poll, where fans can visit and vote for their favorite band as many times as they wish.

The awards ceremony will be April 3 at the Greene Street Club, Greensboro, where the city will be blocking the street for the red carpet arrivals. Select artists will showcase their live performance that evening, said Dimora, and some will also be featured in national commercials for the awards show, to air on CMT, VH1, MTV, E1 and the Food Network.

JNFE was founded this year in New York and is comprised of national and international recording studios, public relations offices, a film and television network, a performance venue, and music/video production company, a screen writing company, a casting agency and a tour promotion company.
