Melody Caspar Montgomery of Salon 535 in Ayden traveled to Las Vegas Aug. 1-3 to provide elite manicuring services for Beyoncé Knowles' band and background vocalists for the national encore of Beyoncé's “I Am” Tour.
She applied Sequin Nails for Tia Fuller, the saxophone player, who opted for a turquoise blue glitter to go along with her wardrobe. She also applied Sequin Nails to lead guitarist Bibi McGill, as well as Montina Cooper, background vocalist.
Melody is a certified Minx Master, trained by celebrity nail artist Athena Elliott of SPAthena in Houston. Athena invited Melody to accompany her to Las Vegas. In addition to Beyoncé's band, Athena provides services for many celebrities including Katy Perry and Letoya Luckett, formerly of Destiny's Child.
While in Las Vegas, Melody and Athena played slots at the Wynn Hotel and Casino, sampled several of the outstanding restaurants and hung out with the band after their last show Aug. 3, after which Beyoncé and the band flew out the next morning for Japan.
Melody is a native of Williamston who has been a licensed manicurist and nail designer for 15 years. She is the only provider of Minx manicures and pedicures east of Raleigh. For more information, visit www.everythingnailzink.com.

Minx Nail Art
Minx, a dry nail coating made that's heated and applied to nails, is the newest trend in nail fashion. Minx nail coverings are made of vinyl film and feature out-of-the box designs such as plaids and prints, stripes and polka dots, metallic finishes, even photographs.
The nail art first garnered national attention when Beyoncé wore metallic Minx nails when she performed at President Obama's inauguration celebration. Other A-list celebrities spotted sporting Minx nails include Lady Gaga, Pink, Victoria Beckham, Jordan Sparks and Heidi Klum.
