Tribute an outgrowth of principal's dedication

Grifton School children observed Veteran's Day on Tuesday with a Veterans Day Assembly were they honored the flag, sang the national anthem and heard of veterans from World War II, Vietnam, Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

GRIFTON — Ronda Sortino never knew any other way of life.

The Grifton School principal grew up in a military family and lived much of her life on bases where she says values such as integrity, character, organization and discipline were instilled in her.
