    American Legion AuxiliaryUnit 39 recently presented a $1,000 check to Barbara Whitehead, branch director of Give2TheTroops, to help the organization mail Christmas packages to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

    The Relay For Life of Pitt County was recently recognized with the American Cancer Society's All American Award, which honors the Relay For Life events that show growth, retention, relay branding, diversity and leadership.
