With the Super Bowl just around the corner, it's time to start gathering all the best football party snacks. Add the comfort of hot food on a cold day and Basil's owner Jeremy Spengeman has the perfect solution: Beer Dip.

“Basil's presents (it) with fried pita,” Spengeman said, “but for healthier/easier alternatives, it's great with baked pita, pita chips, baguette rounds, crackers, etc.”

Basil's Beer Dip

1 lb. cream cheese

1 cup shredded cheddar

 1/4 cup Fat Tire (or other darker beer)

2 tsp. chopped garlic in water

3 tsp. buttermilk ranch dressing powder

Allow cream cheese to rest until at room temperature. Combine all ingredients, mixing thoroughly. Warm on low in Crock Pot.
