deemed necessary?
What else do they deem necessary? I am sure they had some powerful political help in "deeming" this necessary. LOL
Wonderful News
I am glad to see this project move forward. This theater will be a great asset to uptown Greenville and provide an anchor for future restaurants and shops. The cultural value of this building will enhance the quality of life for all of those in Pitt County. The city will get their money out of this building many times over with an increase in property taxes for the surrounding properties and new businesses that want to locate in a more vibrant and pedestrian friendly uptown. Prospective residents want to see lively city-center in a University Town and this is a positive step in that direction.
Are you kidding?
I can't believe our city leaders will be so financially unsound as to invest that kind of money into a crumbling piece of a building. Yes, it's old but not "historically significant". Good luck to the fundraisers. And thanks to the people who made the decision to already spend $85,000.
PS: Watch - If this building does come to fruition it will be at a cost significantly higher than 2.5 to 3 million. You can count on it.
