Yard sale planned at PCC

Seasonal flu vaccine clinic set
The Pitt County Health Department will hold a seasonal flu vaccine clinic from 3-7 p.m., or until supplies last, Monday in the Pitt County Cooperative Extension Auditorium, 403 Government Circle. No appointment is needed. This vaccine provides protection against the seasonal flu only.
Children ages 6 months through 18 years of age are eligible for free seasonal flu vaccine. For adults, the cost of the seasonal flu shot is $20 and seasonal FluMist® is $30. Medicare Part B will be accepted as payment.
Items sought for Veterans Day exhibit
The May Museum in conjunction with Congressman Walter B. Jones is seeking short-term loans on any local memorabilia to be used for a Veterans Day exhibit in November. The exhibit would remain up at least through Memorial Day. Items needed are photographs, letters, artifacts, clippings, uniforms, medals and other items that are fully identified with names, branch of service, war or conflict if applicable, years served and rank. Fundraiser on Tuesday to benefit ill child
Unity Free Will Baptist Church will hold a “Love for Lydia Relief Fund” event from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Greenville Mall to benefit Lydia Byrd, a 5-year-old with an inoperable brain tumor. The church's choir will sing and T-shirts and bracelets will be available for purchase. Chick-fil-A and Wacky Bear also will donate a portion of their proceeds during event hours to the Byrd family.
Down East Holiday show planned
The Pitt Community College Foundation will hold its 2009 Down East Holiday Show from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 6-7 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Greenville Convention Center. The annual fundraiser features gift items from a variety of vendors to help individuals get their holiday shopping off to a good start. Tickets are $6 for ages 11 and older; children 10 and under will be admitted free. Three-day passes will be available for $12. Proceeds from the show will benefit PCC student scholarships and educational activities.
FCA to hold fundraising banquet
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes Eastern North Carolina will hold its fall fundraising banquet from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Nov. 10 in St. James Methodist Church Family Life Center.
